Lonavala International Film Festival India (LIFFI) was started in the year 2016 with an objective of providing a unique experience to film lovers! With a blend of Movies, Q&As, Master Classes and more Triose LIFFI focuses on talents of film makers and pays a tribute to a legendary film maker each year.

LIFFI 2021

In September 2021, film enthusiasts and Bollywood lovers from around the world came together online to celebrate the cinematic legacy of one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic filmmakers—Shakti Samanta. The virtual film festival paid homage to his timeless contributions through curated screenings of 8 of his most beloved films, offering a unique opportunity to revisit the golden era of Indian cinema and have an enlightening panel discussion with his son.

LIFFI 2020

Enthused by the response and participation of the previous film festivals, we didn’t let the pandemic break our spirit! We teamed up with UFO Moveez and brought the Lonavala International Film Festival India to our patrons, within the safety of their homes, through the Plexigo App!
A tribute was paid to Shri N.N Sippy, who has a vast collection of super hit movies, to his credit, including Gumnam, Who Kaun thi, Ghar among others. Spread over 3 weekends, we were joined by luminaries from across the globe who shed light on the various aspects of cinema

LIFFI 2019

We were able to enthrall film lovers with the 4th edition of the Film Festival! The highlight of this festival is a tribute to the Maestro Mr. Subhash Ghai, with screenings of his super hit films. to a packed auditorium. A total of 19 films, with workshops, master classes and Q &A’s with eminent personalities, designed to provide an enriching experience to film students and enthusiasts, media school students from Mumbai, Lonavala and Pune took this Film Festival to new heights

LIFFI 2018
The third Edition of the Film Festival took us to greater heights. A tribute was paid to the ace director Mr. Bimal Roy for his unparalleled contribution to Indian Cinema. His daughter Ms. Rinki Roy Bhattacharya spoke about his work and treasures from her personal collection were exhibited for the benefit of the audience. In addition, several films were screened in the presence of actors like Ms. Shabana Azmi, Mr. Prakash Oak, Mr. Ananth Mahadevan etc. Workshops and Q & A’s were conducted by film experts like Mr. Joy Sengupta, Mr. Anant Mahadevan and Mr. Tushar Bhatia.
LIFFI 2017
Over 30 films across various genres were screened, all of which perfectly fit the theme “An Entertaining Family Weekend “. Well-known entertaining films like “I am Kalam”, Andaz Apna Apna, Jalpari – The Desert Mermaid, Hum Aapke Hain Koun etc. were screened. Mr. Mukesh Khanna, (who played the role of Shaktimaan) the then Chairman of the Children’s Film Society, India was the Chief Guest. Many other esteemed film personalities including Mr. Kawaljeet Singh, Mr. ViveckVaswani etc. shared their valuable experiences.
LIFFI 2016
The first edition of LIFFI was attended by luminaries in the film industry like Mr. Shyam Benegal, Mr. Naseeruddin Shah, Mr. Ketan Mehta, Mr. Govind Nihalani, Mr. Sudhir Mishra, to name a few. Several well-acclaimed films like Pyaasa, Tamas, Ardh Satya, Drohkaal, apart from commendable short films and documentaries were showcased at the event. The attendance and response to the first edition was overwhelming with several visitors coming from all over India to watch path breaking films in the scenic hill station of Lonavala.
